Welcome to the Living and Learning Center's Website! The Living/Learning Community was established in Fall of 2003 as part of an initiative supported by a federal grant to the School of Nursing from the Department of Health and Human Services. It is a pilot program for UMKC and there are few such communities in nursing schools across country. The three-year grant, which the School received in 2001, supports pilot initiatives to increase recruitment and retention in baccalaureate nursing programs and help combat the nursing shortage. The intent of the Living/Learning Community is to provide social and academic support for nursing students by having them live, study and socialize together.
