Biography: Susan Kimble, DNP, RN, ANP-BC has been faculty at UMKC since 1998 and teaches in the graduate Nurse Practitioner tracks and DNP programs. Susan is currently the Director of the MSN program and maintains her adult NP certification through ANCC. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Sheffield Place, a local shelter for women and their children. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Missouri Nurses Association, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF), and Sigma Theta Tau (STTI), Nursing Honor Society. She is currently serving as faculty advisor for SSTI’s Lambda Phi chapter. She is a continuing education reviewer for AANP and advanced practice publication reviewer for Springhouse Corporation. She was selected as an award recipient of the Sanofi-Aventis 2007-2008 NP Doctoral Education Scholarship by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Susan received funding from the UMKC Women's Council for her DNP project in the area of underserved health care and homeless women. Her clinical practice is in a private physician practice where her area of clinical expertise includes acute and chronic illness with a special area of interest in women's health care including menopause. She has presented at NONPF, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Master's Conference, the Second National Conference on the Doctor of Nursing Practice conference, and at STTI's International Conference in 2009.
