Biography: Emily VanArsdale, MPA, CFRE, Development Director.   My job as the chief fundraiser for the school is to initiate, develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external parties to secure funding for the School’s priorities and projects.  I accomplish this task in a variety of ways.  I assist in verbalizing our school’s needs so that potential donors can identify what specific areas they might be interested in contributing to.  I visit with individuals and groups who are interested in supporting our Nursing programs and help them determine how their funds can best be used.  I work with corporations and foundations locally to write proposals seeking funds for our specific projects.  I write grants and assist faculty with identifying local funding opportunities for their programs and research.  I work with Alumni to find better ways to continually engage our alums and ask for their help in specific areas like scholarship giving.  I provide opportunities for potential donors and friends of UMKC to learn more about our exceptional educational offerings and how we give back to the community at-large
