Biography: Cristy Roberts, RN, PhD, is an Assistant Professor with expertise in pediatric nursing. She has been a staff nurse at Children’s Mercy Hospital for over 30 years in multiple departments. Ms. Roberts completed her PhD in Nursing in 2008 at UMKC. For her dissertation, she developed an instrument to measure interest and self-efficacy in nursing for beginning college students. She received a Graduate Student award for research from the Midwest Nursing Research Society. Previous research publications include “Clinical Outcomes and Microbial Contamination After 48 Hour Use of Enteral Feeding Sets in the Home” and ongoing assessment of enteral feeding practices in the hospital.
