Biography: Teresa moved to Missouri, after working in North Carolina as an LPN, and entered the BSN program at Missouri Western State University. She returned to school after working in critical care for a couple of years to complete her MSN from the University of Kansas and become certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Teresa worked in the Family Practice setting for five years before returning for a post-masters certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Before starting fulltime at UMKC, she worked for six years as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, while working parttime at the University of Kansas in the MICU and parttime as a critical care clinical instructor for UMKC. During the past six years she also worked to become certified as a CCRN and CEN.
