Question: Where is the School of Nursing Located?
Answer: The UMKC School of Nursing is located on UMKC’s Hospital Hill campus. Health Science Building, 2220 Holmes, Kansas City, MO 64108 It is across the street from Truman Medical Center Hospital Hill and a couple blocks east of Crown Center.

Answer: Yes, we offer a PhD program which can be entered post BSN or post MSN. There will be an on-line option beginning Fall Semester 2006.

Answer: All students are encouraged to apply for federal financial aid, and in some cases, a federal financial aid application is required before students can be considered for other scholarships or grant opportunities. • UMKC Financial Aid Services (includes link to federal aid application) • UMKC Nursing Scholarships (Student must apply for federal financial aid to be considered) • Nursing Scholarship Web Links There is a Nurse Traineeship grant that is usually available for graduate students attending full-time (nine plus hours/semester) both fall and winter semesters. Answer: Tuition and fees may change each academic year. Please check the UMKC website for the current fee schedule.

Answer: The only UMKC School of Nursing program that is currently available fully online is the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program, the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program and the RN-BSN program. Online courses are not available for the pre-licensure B.S.N. program. The R.N.-B.S.N. and graduate programs include online, web-assisted or web-enhanced courses, in addition to traditional classroom coursework.

Answer: Nurse practitioners must graduate from an accredited B.S.N. (bachelor of science in nursing) program, complete the M.S.N. (master of science in nursing) and pass the national certification board exams. Answer: An LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) would complete the pre-licensure B.S.N. (bachelor of science in nursing) program. There is no bridge.

Answer: Limited courses are offered in the summer for the pre-licensure bachelor’s program and many master’s level courses are offered year-round.
