Program Admission Requirements |
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements for admission to the School of Nursing:
- B.S.N. from a college or university nationally recognized by a nursing accrediting agency or a B.S.N. from a program comparable to UMKC School of Nursing’s B.S.N. program.
- Minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 for the last 60 hours of the B.S.N. program on a 4.0 scale.
- Submission of a current resume.
- The neonatal program has extra additional admission requirements. Please see the NNP page for these.
- Current Missouri licensure and licensure in the state in which the student completes clinical requirements.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
- The following two courses are pre-requisites to the MSN program; however they can be taken at UMKC along with your program of study. (They do not need to be taken prior to application):
- Upper division statistics course with a minimum grade of B. This course must be taken prior to N555 Research Methodologies.
- A free standing health assessment course prior to enrolling in N547 Health Assessment & Clinical Reasoning is required. Please note this does not apply to the NNP or Nurse Executive program applicants.
