Pathways to Nursing

Program Purpose: Pathways to Nursing is a year-long academy that provides a one-week on campus residential experience in the summer and monthly on campus meeting throughout the school year (October-April). It is designed to introduce students primarily from minority and underrepresented populations to careers in nursing. Students will learn about various nursing professions, participate in experiential learning activities, tour hospitals, and receive academic enrichment. Woven throughout the curriculum are social and cultural support functions designed to build a sense of community and overcome academic and environmental obstacles to program completion.
The objective is to fulfill the need for nurses and especially nurses from underrepresented minority populations and disadvantaged backgrounds.
