Transfer Students
The UMKC School of Nursing is not the typical 2 + 2 (two years of general education coursework followed by two years of nursing courses) program. Our program is 1 + 3 (one year of general education followed by three years of nursing courses with general education courses mixed in).
What this means to transfer students is that if you are accepted into the clinical courses, the minimum number of years you will have left is three. There is not a way to double up on course work so that you can complete faster. It will take you A FULL three years once you are accepted into the clinical major.
We highly recommend that you attend an Information Session to be sure you understand the program. Also be sure to visit the equivalency site(s) listed below to be certain that you take the correct equivalent courses.
